Senior Pastor

Pastor Monty Trammel

Known for his heart to reach families, Pastor Monty Trammel has created a variety of ministries aimed at people of all ages. Since coming to Gospel Baptist Church in 1988, he has overseen its growth into one of the county's largest churches. Before his start as a senior pastor, he served many years in both adult and youth ministry, and his passion for kids, teens, and adults is seen in the emphasis that GBC places on reaching those age groups along with their families.

Born and raised in Cincinnati Ohio, Pastor Monty has a wonderful testimony of being saved as a high schooler while growing up in a Pastor's home. He and his wife Lori were married in 1980 and have two children. Matt and his wife Annie (and grandson, Abraham!), and daughter Emily.

Gospel Baptist Church was named for three years running "the number one place to meet people in four counties" by the Galion Inquirer. Gospel Baptist is about people, PEOPLE JUST LIKE YOU! There is a place for you to worship with us here.

Family Pastor

Pastor Matt Wheeler

Born and raised in the Bucyrus area, Matt came on board the staff of GBC in 1999. His heart’s desire is to help lead children and their families into a growing relationship with Jesus. Matt met his wife Amber at GBC. They were married in 2007. Their son Joseph was born in August of 2010. Matt enjoys sports, reading, travel, and hanging out with his wife and baby boy.

Worship/Youth Pastor

Pastor Zach Swift

Zach was saved at the age of 6, and felt God calling him into full-time ministry at the age of 14. He and his wife, Brittany, have been at Gospel Baptist since Fall 2007. Zach is the Youth Pastor, and also leads our Worship. They have 3 kids- Ivy (2006), Tate (2008), and Evan (2010), and are excited to see the teens at Gospel grow and become passionate followers of Christ!

Secretary

Nancy Orr

When you call Gospel Baptist Church, you will hear the friendly voice of our secretary, Nancy Orr. She has been our church secretary since 1998. Nancy and her husband, Dan have a prison ministry called SoundWord Ministries (www.soundwordministries.com) which reaches hundreds of inmates a year for the cause of Jesus Christ.
